VOLUNTEER VACATIONS…WITH “GLOBAL VOLUNTEERS”

Short term (1-3 week) volunteer vacations are becoming increasingly popular among individuals and families who love to travel, experience different cultures, and make a working contribution to improve people’s lives.

Since 1984, more than 33,000 people ranging in age from 10 to 92 have served others through the Global Volunteers program.

Volunteers primarily work with children teaching conversational English, math and life skills….also with seniors in crafts, light tasks in organic gardens, and building maintenance such as painting. Host countries include Cuba, Greece, Portugal, Nepal, St. Lucia, Ecuador, Peru and several others.

Former Reading mayor, Tom McMahon, and fellow Berks Countians, Sherry Cameron and Najma Iqbal, will relate their experiences with the Global Volunteers program.
