The World Affairs Council of Greater Reading is a proud member of the World Affairs Councils of America (WACA). Approximately 90 member councils can be found in 40 U.S. states plus the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.

The World Affairs Councils of America is the largest nonpartisan, non-grassroots organization in the United States dedicated to educating and engaging the American public on global issues. Over 500,000 people a year benefit from the network programming, including members and participants.

The national office of the WACA works to develop new program opportunities to distribute to member councils. This includes National World Quest, an excellent annual conference held in Washington, DC (open to all members) as well as other opportunities. The national office maintains a comprehensive library of potential speakers that member councils can utilize.

The WACA acts as the central hub for the council network, connecting councils with resources, opportunities, and of course, with each other.
