He is also the host and executive producer of the TV series on diplomacy Conversations with Nicholas Kralev. \nHe is the author of America’s Other Army\, Diplomats in the Trenches and Decoding Air Travel. His work has been published in The New York Times\, The Atlantic\, Foreign Policy Magazine and The Huffington Post\, and has appeared on NPR\, CNN\, BBC\, Fox News\, C-SPAN and local stations across the United States and around the world. \nHe holds a master’s degree in public policy from Harvard’s John F. In addition\, he was the first U.S. Consul General to Ho Chi Minh City\, Vietnam\, opening the Consulate General there in 1998. \nPrior to this\, Ray joined the United States Army. in 1962 and retired 20 years later with the rank of major. During his time with the Army\, he served in Vietnam (1968–1969\, 1972–1973)\, Germany\, Okinawa\, and South Korea.
